Cover Letter: Skylar’s Application to Daycare

Hey there, Daycare Team!

I’m Skylar, freshly graduated with my Master's in Early Childhood Education, and I’m pumped to throw my hat in the ring for the daycare instructor position. I’ve always had a passion for working with kids, and I truly believe that every child, no matter how unique, deserves the best care and attention. That’s why I’m super excited about the opportunity to mentor Mitchell, who’s an adult baby (ABDL).

Growing up, I was that bro who always played the role of the big kid. Whether it was organizing epic backyard games or just hanging out with my little cousins, I found joy in being around kids. It’s like they have this unfiltered energy that brings out the best in me. I remember one time at a family reunion, I led a treasure hunt for my younger cousins. The thrill in their eyes when they found the “hidden treasure” (which was just candy) made my day. I want to create those kinds of experiences for all kids, including Mitchell.

I get that working with someone like Mitchell requires a different approach. It’s not just about the basics of childcare; it’s about understanding his unique needs and creating an environment where he can thrive. I’ve done my homework on the ABDL community, and I’m well aware of the importance of respect and empathy in this role. Just like any other child, Mitchell deserves to feel safe, loved, and understood. I’m all about fostering that kind of environment.

In my Master’s program, I focused on inclusive education, which has given me the tools to adapt my teaching methods to meet diverse needs. I worked on projects that involved creating engaging activities for children with varying abilities. This experience has equipped me with the skills to ensure that every child feels included and valued.

Here’s a fun fact: I once organized a “Dress Like Your Favorite Character” day at my internship. We had kids come in dressed as everything from superheroes to princesses. It was a blast! The creativity and joy that came from that day reminded me why I love this field. I want to bring that same spirit to your daycare, ensuring that every day is filled with fun, learning, and laughter.

I’m also a firm believer in open communication. I think it’s crucial to keep the lines open between instructors, parents, and the kids. Creating a partnership with Mitchell’s caregivers will be key to understanding his needs and ensuring he feels comfortable. I’m ready to engage in meaningful conversations that will help us all work together for Mitchell’s best interest.

I’m stoked about the possibility of joining your team and contributing to a nurturing environment for all the kids. I can’t wait to bring my energy, creativity, and passion for childcare to your daycare. Let’s chat soon about how I can help make a difference in Mitchell’s life and the lives of all the kids at your daycare!

Thanks for considering my application. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to discuss this further.

Best, Skylar
