Embracing Friendship, Courage, Kindness, and Harmony: Campus Perspective on Community and Compassion
Brothers and Sisters of the Honor Roll,
Today, we gather to talk about something real – something that goes beyond the surface-level chatter about cookie monster pampers and locker room jokes. We’re here to have a genuine conversation about community, support, and looking out for each other.
Let’s be honest. Our journey isn’t always straightforward. We’ve got stories – like our boy Mitchell – who’s walked a path that’s taken him away from traditional spaces. And that’s okay. Because at the end of the day, our community is about understanding, not judging.
We talk a lot about staying connected, about being there for each other. And when I say “we,” I mean WE – this tight-knit group of certified mentors who know what it means to have each other’s backs.
Now, let’s get real about faith and community. Sometimes, people who claim to represent a certain belief don’t always live up to those ideals. It’s unfortunate, but true. But here’s the thing – everyone, and I mean everyone, still has value. Still deserves respect.
Safety is our priority.
If something feels off, trust your gut
Stay close to people you know and trust
We’ve got a network that supports you, no questions asked
Our scripture reminds us that love transcends judgment. We’re called to support, to lift up, to create a space where everyone feels valued. It’s not about perfection – it’s about progress, about understanding.
To our Mitchell, to everyone who’s felt out of place – we see you. We support you. This is more than just talk. This is a promise.
Remember:
Friendship isn’t conditional
Courage means standing up for each other
Kindness is our strongest weapon
Music of our community plays when we unite
We’re more than just a group. We’re a family. And in this family, you’re never alone.
Stay strong. Stay together. Stay true.
Respect.
