Mitchell's Bus Ride Back to Childhood
So there I was, riding the bus with Mitchell, reminiscing about how hard he worked to get his own car. He was so proud, driving it all around town like he owned the place. I mean, this kid put in the hours, saved up his allowance, and finally got that sweet ride. But then, just when he thought he was living the dream, God decided to throw a curveball.
As he gets inside his car, he’s got that goofy grin on his face, ready for another adventure. But just as he’s about to take off, God makes a loud fart noise—pfffft!—like a cartoon sound effect, signaling that Mitchell got into an “accident.” I couldn’t help but laugh and say, “Looks like your car just got crunched up and totaled, buddy! Better call the tow truck for that one!”
Now, here he is, sitting on the bus, wearing a soggy pamper under his shorts. It’s a sight to behold! He’s trying to act all cool, but you can see the embarrassment creeping in. And to top it off, he’s got a pacifier tucked away in his pocket, just in case he needs a little comfort.
As we jostle along the bumpy bus ride, I can’t help but chuckle at how ridiculous he looks. “Hey, Mitchell,” I tease, “looks like you’re back in the baby game!” He rolls his eyes but can’t help but laugh too.
When we finally get home, I pull back his waistband for a quick pamper check right there on the bus. “Alright, buddy,” I say with a grin, “looks like we’re going to get that poopy butt changed!”
It’s moments like these that remind us that no matter how grown-up we try to be, life has a funny way of bringing us back to our roots. And as we ride the bus, I know that Mitchell’s got a story to tell—one that’ll have us both laughing for years to come!
