Playtime Kids: Cookie Monster Meets Nurse Nick: Super-Duper Medical Adventure!

Hello there, young readers! It is I, your old pal, here to tell you the most amazing story about our fuzzy blue friend Cookie Monster and his super cool visit to the hospital! This story is so awesome it might make your brain explode! (Not really, but wouldn't that be gross?!)

One sunny Tuesday morning, Cookie Monster was walking to the park when he saw a tall man in blue scrubs helping an elderly lady into the hospital.

"Me curious! Who that?" Cookie Monster wondered out loud, his googly eyes going all wiggly.

The man turned around with a friendly smile. "Hi there! I'm Nick, and I'm a nurse!"

"Nurse? Me thought only ladies be nurses!" Cookie Monster scratched his furry head, cookie crumbs tumbling everywhere.

"That's a common mistake!" Nurse Nick laughed. "Anyone can be a nurse! Boys, girls, monsters—as long as you want to help people get better!"

"What nurses do all day? Besides not share cookies?" Cookie Monster asked.

"Well," said Nurse Nick, "we do lots of important stuff! We check patients' temperatures, give medicine, help doctors during surgeries, and make sure everyone is comfortable and healing properly. We also teach people how to stay healthy!"

"Wowee wow wow!" shouted Cookie Monster. "How me become nurse?"

"First, you need to finish high school," Nick explained. "Then you go to nursing school for about 2-4 years. You learn about the human body, different medicines, and how to take care of people. Then you take a big test to get your license!"

"That sound like lots of work! Harder than finding cookies!"

"It is hard work," Nurse Nick nodded, "but it's also super rewarding! I help people feel better every single day. Plus, there are many different kinds of nurses. Some work in hospitals, some in schools, some visit people's homes, and some even travel around the world!"

"Me think nurses are heroes! Like superheroes but with less underpants on outside of clothes!" Cookie Monster declared.

"That's right!" Nurse Nick laughed. "Though we definitely keep our underpants where they belong!"

By the end of the day, Cookie Monster learned that nurses are amazing people who help others when they're sick or hurt. He even promised to eat a vegetable sometimes (but mostly still cookies) to stay healthy!
