Malcolm X's Journey to Greatness - Episode 1: From Little to X
Yo, check it out. Our man Malcolm came into this world on May 19, 1925, in Omaha, Nebraska. Born Malcolm Little, this dude was destined for greatness from day one. His pops, Earl Little, was a straight-up badass Baptist preacher who didn’t take crap from anyone, especially not the KKK.
But life wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for young Malcolm. The fam had to bounce around the Midwest like pinballs, trying to stay one step ahead of the white supremacists who had it out for them. In 1929, their crib in Lansing, Michigan got torched by some racist punks. Talk about a rough childhood, am I right?
Despite the heat, Malcolm’s old man kept preaching that “back to Africa” gospel with the Universal Negro Improvement Association. Little did they know, this was just the beginning of Malcolm’s journey to becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Next time, we’ll see how Malcolm dealt with some serious family tragedy and how it shaped him into the man he’d become. Stay tuned, bros!
