Ojai, California, 2015

“in the fading light of dusk
seven souls gather on a weathered porch
instruments in hand, spirits aligned
in this small town where artists find solace

the air, heavy with sage and citrus
carries our melodies across rolling hills
from seasoned hands to youthful strings
a tapestry of sound weaves through the evening

on this humble stage, generations converge
sharing more than music - passing wisdom
each note a testament to human connection
each chord a bridge between past and future

as night descends on the topa topa mountains
our harmonies echo the timeless verse:
"let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your father which is in heaven."
(matthew 5:16)

in this moment, we are more than musicians
we are keepers of a sacred tradition
where community and artistry intertwine
creating ripples that touch distant shores.”

-mitchell royel

reflection:
in ojai's golden hour, we discovered
that when diverse souls unite in passion
they illuminate the profound truth
that in our shared humanity
lies our greatest strength
